So bottom there are two ways to hack your PSP 1000/2000 from scratch.

1. ChickHEN R2 on 5.03 firmware (this can be done from a single memory stick for free!) - or -
2. with a Pandora Battery and MMS. (you will either need to buy or make a pandora battery)

The problem with ChickHEN is, you MUST have ofw (official firmware) version 5.03 or below. If you have anything above that you will need a Pandora Battery. Also, it's not an "un-bricker", which means if your PSP 1000 or 2000 ever becomes bricked you CANNOT use the ChickHEN method to un-brick your PSP. You can, however, un-brick and isntall CFW on your PSP with a Pandora Battery and MMS 100% of the time!

So now comes the process of either making or buying a Pandora battery. If you know anyone with CFW on their PSP already, they can make a Pandora battery for you. I will post the link to that tutorial here soon. If you don't know anyone with CFW, you are going to need to buy a Pandora battery online, you cannot find them in stores.

Every other company either, drop ships from China, or their memory sticks are fake and don't have anything preloaded on them. I had to buy a Pandora battery the first time I hacked my 1000, and I used them and couldn't be happier.
