PSP Game Reviews: See Where Your Game Ranks, How It Is Ranked…
On the lines of the popular Television show, the thought hits my mind that just the way how singers are ranked and the top singer takes the crown, PSP Games should also be ranked. Soon after I thought of this idea, I logged on to the internet and found that there were already plenty of sites which gave good insights on which are the top-ranked games on the internet. And needless to say, the games with which we are familiar with are indeed ranked and reviewed. Each game is reviewed by critics, publications and they are assigned a score which is technically called "MetaScore". For ease of calculation and presentation purposes, these Metascores are displayed out of 100. Just so that readers get to see how do the games review in a subjective manner, the reviews are displayed in three colors Green, Yellow and Red. Green indicates that the reviews have exceeded expectations, Yellow indicates that the particular game has mixed reviews and Red indicates bad reviews.
With a cutoff of 'x' number of reviews for each game, it is not so easy to get a high review or a metascore. You will do well to know that Metascores assigned to a particular game are weighted scores of all the reviews. And while the games are reviewed, the key factors taken into count are overall stature and quality. The issue is with the critics' reviews. A lot of subjectivity is involved when about 30 critics issue their reviews. Some prepare very detailed reviews and some very objective. But at the end of it, the scores are collated and put in a weighted scoring system after which the weighted metascore is generated for the game. Not that users do not get a chance to review, they do. Just that their scores do not count in the Metascore calculations. Talking about the best reviews, "Ninja Gaiden Sigma" has a metascore of 89 and makes it a hit amongst the critics. The Ninja Gaiden , though has generated lot of mixed reviews amongst users with most of them complaining about the game's controls. Amongst the big bombers on the Gaming arena is "Rub-a-dub" which promised a lot but even before its release the critics have shown them the door. You will get a lot of insights into game reviews, you can get the information….
